Ok so i might be getting this articat zrt 800 for $1100 this week. the choke lever is broke, hood has a small crack, carbs need cleaning, and like 3 studs ripped out of the track, but the person squirted gas down the 3 cylinders and it did fire up. Anybody think this is a good deal? i think so. heck the engine is worth that much!!!!

depends on how many miles are on it and how the track is. Also, what year is it?
I know some that are worth 2000 and some worth 400. Check the compression and don't just jump on the deal because it seems inexpensive.

look it over if it in good shape besides the little detail you say i would jump on it ,but would bring a can of ether and see if the base gaskets are sucking air ,seem to be a problem ,have had 2 differnt machines do that for no reason ,one with only 1500 miles on it

Entire sleds that are exactly like the one you listed and sold for LESS than you think the motor alone is worth!

Next time don't question me when it comes to ZRT's. If I told you the motor is not worth 1,100 dollars. It isn't. You should take advice when it's given to you.

And next time don't quote my whole post when it is right above you. Use ^^

Want some more or do you want me to school you on something else ZRT related?

I got a spare clutch here to sell you, it is worth $1,600

i wouldnt argue wit ACM bout zrt's...hes had them and completly rebuilt one...but if it runs and just needs the carbs cleaned go for it. i got a 95 zrt 800 triple that i will be riding for the rest of the year cuz of my busted crank. its modded and goes like a raped ape. even not modded they are fast sleds. definatly no slouch. take that into consideration before drinking and riding or trying to ride like blair morgan on the trails. if you hit a tree riding agressivly chances are the sled will be totaled...

97 zr 580 running then broke again :(. got water in the crank case.
98 indy 500 L/C good trail banger.
97 Vmax SX 700 triple/ triple. fast trail sled.
92 bronco XLT 5.8 litre, hooker headers, strait pipes, 31" mudders. soon a 3" lift so i can get 33's.

Ok so i got it today and the sled is mighty fast, one think it sounds like whenever i give it the gas something is rubbing.. almost like the belt is rubbing against something. and as i go fasting you can hear the rubbing getting faster, so i think its the belt. correct me if im wrong. could this hurt the sled in anyway?

Put it on a stand and run it. Open your hood, and you should be able to see if anything is rubbing under there. If it stops making the noise when you have the hood up, check if any wires are loose and ziptie them back to the hood if they are hanging free. Rubbing sounds could also come from under the tunnel if there is ice built up under there.
