Well on my way to school today i noticed my track was making noises when i let go of the gas and when i use my reverse. No noises are present when i get on the gas hard only when im coasting or in reverse. The sound does not sound damageing only like a crunching noise. I hope its just ice caught up there. What should i look for?

Well if you think it could be ice up in the drivers or such you should try to thaw it out and inspect.

I would also make sure you have chaincase lube, hard to figure out sounds sometimes over engine noise, so unless you can duplicate it with the engine off and track it then you either have to visual or otherwise inspect.

well look for ice on top of the track ,2 look for bearing out ,especially the one on the left side of the tunnel ,but that usually takes the speedo drive out

sorry this is off topic... but you decided to keep your sled? arent you the one that tried sellin it a couple times?

but as for the sway bars, you can ride without them. i believe that racers usually take them out or at least if people plan on doing lots of jumping they decide to.

that wasnt the problem. Im trying to find somone with a warm garage to complete the inspection. Also when i let go of the gas it seems to not only make that noise but slow down rather quickly , it does not lock up the track or anything. If the brakes were sticking would my brake light come on? But anyways without the sway bar i didnt notice anything it still drives and corners the same.

o so you removed it? ok nevermind that pm i just sent you haha. my friend had a problem similar to this as well, he thought it was the bearings making the sound, but after replacing them all a crow bar fell out from above the track haha true story. so maybe look to see if anything like that coulve also of happened, ya never know.

Are the clips of your track hitting the end of your hifax as it tarvels around the rear wheel?

^^yes, if your rear wheels are too far forward the clips can hit the ends of your hifax.

Make sure your track is centered. Measure the gap from the hyfax to the track clip...keep it even. see pic

your hyfax looks thin might want to replace them.

It’s supposed to thread in and out once you loosen the jam nut on it. Threading it in will tighten the track, you will also have to loosen up the rear wheels to move the adjusters more easily

AAAAHHHH! That’s what happened to me and I had to buy new bolts and jam nuts, only advice I can offer at this time is to soak them is PB blaster or similar and add heat to the nut and try to remove it. When you adjust your track the Polaris manual says to hang a 10 lb weight from the center of your track I forget the exact measurement someone else will chime in with them I don’t want to give you the wrong measurement (books at home). BTW I broke both my adjusters trying to free the jam nuts PITA

Your list should officially be.

2 bolts
2 lock nuts
2 Hyfax (white ones are better from polaris longer wearing by far for me)

If you find any holes in the hyfax look for worn clips.

I just read on another thread that the manual says 1" with a 10 lb weight.
