how to de-ice the sled? - any tips? started by wheelie

i need to drop the skid in my sled, and was wondering if anyone had tips on how to quickly de-ice the sled so im not working on a cold and wet cement floor in the shop? i was thinking space heater in the driveway before i bring it in, anyone have ideas?

Knipco heater blowing into the rear of your sled. Don't get it too close to melt your track though. That's the best (and only) option I would think a person has if you don't want the water in the shop.

heat lamp clean it out with you're gloves or use the girl friends or wifes blow drier while shes at work LOL

i got alittle torpedo heater that i hoook up to the propane tank. put it inside and have the heater blowing towards it just not really close. or take alittle hand-held propane torch and heat up the areas needed to undo the bolts/nuts, pull the skid out and take it in your house and put it in the bath tub and turn the shower on with hot water :)

Hit the car wash. Coin op car washes usually have heated water to the wand. Spray it out good and get the chunks out. You will still have a thin layer of ice depending on how cold it is, but that's alot easier to deal with than what's in there after a ride. That's worked well for me in the past.
