I have a 99 XC700 SP Gen II chassis only with no engine. Has anyone here done a swap and put an 800 Triple Storm or XCR800 engine into one. If so how much work was it. Looks like there is plenty of room in there for pipes and all, but if it is impossible i won't even consider it. I am pretty sure in 2000 and 2001 Polaris made an XCR800 in the gen II body so it been done the factory way. Thanks in advance

for the xcr/ultra engine swap you just need the motor. pipes, straps air box and carbs. should just be a simple drop in.
nothing goes like 3 holes!!

I did a Indy RXL/650 based motor into a chassis with a GenII twin bulkhead. Should be about the same for a Storm or XCR motor. First get a set of 2000+ XCR 800 motor straps. The front mag side motor mount will need to be moved, as you can see in this picture.
Thats about the biggest hurdle I had. My center to center came out almost perfect, just needed to shim the rear motor mounts alittle to get it spot on after torquing the engine down.
Or if you want to go another way you could get a twin motor plate and if it is wide enough redrill the mount holes for the motor and use that.
I think it should be a pretty staight forward swap as long as you have the wireharness for the Storm or XCR motor. If you use an XCR 800 engine it will be easy as far as pipes go just get a set from a 2000+ motor since they were in the GenII chassis. If you use the Storm motor the pipes may take alittle massaging. My SLP pretty much dropped right in, just a few little thing that I had to fix. There will be little things that pop up when doing a swap, with mine there was. But major thing was that motor mount for me.

Thanks for all the help guys. I will take all of your ideas into consideration. Now all I have to do is find the engine. I would put it back to stock, but everyone is asking to much for their twins and they are not worth what they are asking for them at least not to me.
