The small block motors (5 and small block 600) have a direct drive water pump and oil pump. The big block (600 big block, 700, and 800) have a belt inside the starter recoil assembly.

I think the 600 libertys were around 115ish. They've jumped up quit a bit since the edge. The 700's I think are around 135 give or take. Correct me if I am wrong.

Some of the 500 Liberty engines did not have VES. Did all the 600 small blocks have VES?

I thought the 600 was 125 Horsepower and 700 was 130 Horsepower...any way it was; the 700 only had 5 additional ponies...
As far as milage goes, I've got a tempa flow and constantly check piston wash, I get 11.6 MPG pretty consistently...Pre tempa flow milage was about 10.5-11.0 depending on temperatures...
I like to ride. Even if you have a Doo/Yami/Cat/Poo, so be it. I bought my snowmobile to have fun, not to tell everyone mine is better than yours. My preference...POLARIS, BABY!

I have a 600 Edge, and I recently got 8 MPG with 92 octane and 10 MPG with 87 octane. This was a mixture of trail and offtrail riding. I used to get up to 12 MPG before I geared down and added a paddle track.

bringing up an old topic, but i figured it would be better than starting a new one.
is an 01-03 700 a big block? how would that fit in?
can anyone tell me how much work is involoved in swapping my engine to a pro-x or xr 440. are they oil injected or mix? is the 440 a direct drop in or do you have to modify the mounts? hows the wiring, is it just a plug in or no. ANY HELP IS APPRECIATED. THANKS A BUNCH
ps. i am keeping my options open, i am still looking for another crank, but am considering buying a whole motor and selling the parts off my old motor.
thanks

Yes, the '01-'03 700 motor is a big block. The 440 Pro-XR is premix. I'm confused, you want to put the 440 motor in what sled?

my sled. i need to buy a new crank or motor. if i get a new crank im getting killed because my mechanic is $40 p/h. plus a crank and a clinder(upwards of 500)so i could just buy a new motor and put it in myself. like i said im just keeping my options open.

The 700 liberty motors with ves had 134 hp. The 600 had 113 and the 500 was 105. My 05 600 xcsp walks allover the 700 libertys and the fusions all day. Yes my 05 is stock. I also have beat a 700 fusion soundly. Only one because thats all i raced. My brother has a 03 700 xcsp and gets 4 mpg. I can get about 10.
