I have 144 studs, but the sled is stock otherwise, well except for the exhaust...anyways, I mostly ride trails and play around so I don't really need to go 100+ mph...but I don't really want to sacrifice any performance or speed. Any suggestions would be appreciated. or should I just change the gears?

if your just looking to pull the skis alittle you can adjust the rear wieght transfer blocks.but with 144 studs i dought you do much spinning.i would say go with a clucth kit first.gears your gana have to sacrifice somewere topend or bottom end.a good clucth kit epi , slp , dalton would probly help.the one i rode was completly stock and man that thing pulled like a rapped ape.polaris did such and exelent job on that motor and injection system.the one i rode was a switchback 144 so little more on the ground.I have yet to here any results from a clutch kit on those sleds so if you do one let us know how it comes out.
