Thats cool that you didnt get yelled at. Around here we will go into the woods and find powerlines, logging trails and fire roads. When we get a chance we go out through evergreen woods. But when we get to a road or come to a neighborhood we get yelled at or get the finger. I think my town is a little to populated to just go riding around now. Ballsy to do it on the ZRT, I think it would be a SOB if you got it stuck on some hill or something. Cool stuff when you stop ot take pics and stuff.
SKILIE= wheelie for sleds cuz they dont have wheels!!!!

Nice pics Matt how much snow in the Pitcher area is there still snow on the truck trails after the rain?
Rain took most everything away. But this morning 4 inches was on the ground of fresh white gold. We will need more before I venture up and explore more. I seen a few areas I wanted to try, just worried about going down a hill and having to turn the zrt around and get back up it alone miles from the house. You ride up here?
I posted this on a local little forum and the guy that made them 4 wheeler tracks posted up. I rode by his camper in the woods, he is from jersey, could be you?

So Matt like boondocking...
Very cool.
ACG is right matt, you REALLY NEED to come out here and try it in the mountains.
I do still have the spare sled and all....
Don't you tempt me. You (well riding there with you) just got put on my To-do list. Imagine that report.. trail rider does mountain riding. HA! Would be cool to get you over here to rack on a few hundred NY trail miles also.
Thanks for the kind words from the others!

So what I did is what you guys call boondocking? I call it lots of tresspassing
Even though I was at 1900 feet, the bottom of the hills are like 800 ft I think.. so 1000 feet up is up there. I would love to come out there someday. You should come here too
Oh, I have to add before the nayslayers come out, everywhere I went I was not within a mile of a house, or I was in state forest, or 5 miles there was on an actual snowmobile trail.
[/quote]
So were you actually on state or private land most of the time.?

^ I would say 80% of the miles were state land and seasonal roads (not plowed in winter hence why there were no tracks on them)

cool pictures, but holy crap! those "snowmobile trails" are so smooth they look like roads!! "I continue for miles and go over crap like this in the middle of nowhere" those would be called lil' jumps :D
anyways, great pics!! I enjoy looking at the different type of areas people ride in!

I do enjoy your ride reports, but if some of that was private land that you didn't have permission to cross I am not impressed. I could find miles of untouched trails if I had no respect for landowners, but I do, so I stay off thier land and respect thier property.

^ Thank you. On the tresspassing note. I said 80% was state land. That leaves 20%. 15% was the NYS trail system that I am registered to be on and 5% was a stretch of land around the top of a hill that is owned by a guy from New Jersey that nobody has seen. Was I breaking the law for 1 mile? Sure. But, there were no posted signs either. The people that go up there and are having big bomb fire parties are the ones that are going to wreck it and get it posted.
I posted this on a little local forum of 20 memebers or so (TTS). A guy posted up that I went by his camper on the seasonal road. I know where his camper is, he is from New Jersey. His 4 wheeler tracks can be seen in a few of the pictures. Where I said I had to take seasonal roads to get to one of the tops of the hills was because posted signs were put up this year over summer. He informed me a lady and her husband owned 2,000 acres up there. A girl got hurt drunk and jumping out of a tree into the pond, they sued, land got posted. I did NOT go past them posted signs.
So, the 5% of the trip that I did not have permission to be on was the first two pictures, again not posted and owner is in NJ and never comes here. 1 mile and snapped two pictures.
The renegade trail I did is owned by a guy that bought the land from my landlord, I know him and have ridden up there many times and hunted.. all is well on that front so no tresspassing there.
Hopefully that clarfied any issues.

Be careful, that land might belong to Tony Soprano, and there might be a stash of dead bodies up that way.
Looks like it was a great ride though.
I still have one question though: Where DID you put the Monster stickers?

My Dad knows some awesome trails, and gorgeous land areas near you. In Cuyler area. All state land, and gas lines, nice rides throughout the entire state land from cuyler to deruyter, forest lake, there are unknown, and open trails in that area, alot of old homes that have fallen in, from the depression area. We will have to meet you in your area sometime. Pics looked nice, but the Fusion would have looked much better in those pics.

Matt,
Excellent coverage of your ride! I ALWAYS enjoy reading your "adventure" reports. They truly allow the reader to "come along for the ride" I can really appreciate all the work that goes into them. I myself try and convey my rides but I just don't have the patience to write it all out in such detail as you. Did you see my last ride reprot from last weekend? If not this is it...
