So my friend and I built a 4 foot step up today and launched off it going really fast. My last jump was 70 ft!
My sled is really taking a beating though! Besides the suspension, my sides always fall off and a piece broke off today. Then my hood ripped off from the plastic and cord holding the hood up. Now my hood falls off almost and there is a crack.
The last picture is me going 70 ft. I stopped after that because my sled fell apart. I am going to hit it again tomorrow so it is harder. They other pictures were testing the jump basically. tell me what you think.

Sweet. you need to get a steeper grade landing or not so much of a kicker with stock suspension or your sleds gonna be selling for parts. nice vid and pictures though
And thats a step down not step up. and you mean 4 foot kicker?

That's awesome but it does look like a hard landing.

those were my thoughts exacly, people jumping with those snow conditions are idiots IMO. dont want to be mean, but its just plain stupid... its practicly riding on dirt!

Its fine riding with packed snow like that. but your angle and speed your comming infrom is what kills your sled. steeper landing next time. or more of a cheeze wedge.

yeah, lastnight got me a little fired up and i had been looking for a spot and waiting forever. I just decided to screw it because it might be my last chance and I can just fix it up this summer.
The videos aren't 70 ft for sure! The last one i just decided to nail it and we got out the tape measure to prove it. The 70 footer I landed right next to the tree and almost wrapped myself around it.
I know that my shocks are taking a beating, there's not enough snow, and the landing isn't steep enough....but it was worth it. you have to give me some credit.
thanks for the feedback

yeah, your doing a great job, but you gota be careful. I cased a step up on my ext and the sled was junk after that, blew out the shock and totaled nun and bulkhead. When your head starts almost hitting the bars when you land you gotta invest in some good shocks. lol

thats not a step up. its just a booter. and when you say 70 feet of air that means 70 feet from the ground to your sled. you jumped 70 feet at like 4 or 5 feet of air

yeah sorry i meant a kicker. obviously that wasn't 70 ft high, i just worded it wrong. it was more than 4 or 5 ft though. It doesn't look like it from down the hill at that angle but our kicker was 4ft tall

Looks like fun!
The trees buy the landing, ehh, not the brightest idea, but hey whats the worth that could happen? a wrecked $8k sled and a huge hospital / ambulance bill... hopefully not, but it looks like it will pan out that way in the future. Cut the tree down to ground level or dig it up and move it.

NUN???
Anyways looks like fun! Its your sled so do what you want with it IMO!
And guys sleds are about 9 ft long so a 70 long jump is just about 10 sled lenghts or less. If it was a comp ramp and he went up and that same distance it would look much bigger.
Looks good though fox! So what is the total damage to the sled?

^^ i didn't think it was close to 70 ft at first until i got the tape measure and went from the tip of the jump to the part of the crater where my track first touched. it doesn't look that big but the last one was really high.
I am just trying to improve my riding/jumping skills and slowly going bigger and bigger. I hope to find a spot with a steeper hill bigger jump and lots more snow.
the total damage from this whole year has been... radiator cover fell off, dent in the radiator, rivets coming out of the belly pan, crack in hood, the hood ripped off from the plastic and cords to hold it up, chip off the side panel. the only thing holding my hood on when i up strap it now is the electrical wires so i have to hold it open. And I also have a big chunk of plastic that chipped off on the side of the hood down to the radiator cover. So I am going to have some body work done and new shocks or recharge them.

I am not sure what part is the funniest, the fact that you think your EXT has a nun or that you Claim you were jumping a step up with an EXT! I personally dont believe any of it.

Just dont blow your line or your in the trees. Not the greatest place for a kicker. Nice anyway though.

The nun on that sled is not really a nun, but i called it take for people knew what i was talking about, the shock towers broke and bent and where it was welded to the bulthead was snapped clean off to. i posted a pic of the jump and damage on a post way back. The step up was wasbout 30 or so feet. not a big one but a hash landing if you didnt clear it.
