Doubtful.
The weight you savve in cutting a metal ski will more than likely not justify the crash when the ski breaks.
Save the $$$ and find some plastic ones when you can.

Just ride it, or look for used plastic skis.
You won't notice a difference, i'd just save my time and money and put them in gas.

If it turns bad, check the carbides.

The weight you would save by cutting up you skis would be very small.

Not that I would, but you could possibly drill holes in the running surface of the ski. So long as you used a plastic ski skin over it.

Problem is the ski skin is going to weigh a pound or maybe a bit more, and that would be quite a few holes to remove an equivalent.

With these older sleds its often cheaper to leave them be and buy something with the performance you want. Maybe try to get a few hundred out of the Phazer now, and find something with the performance you want out of the box. Then you won't need to spend your money on things that are not going to give you what you wanted in the end.

Plus the newer sleds will handle better anyway.

have you ever ridden a phazer!? they corner like they are on rails. my friend has one, and even though it only runs on one cylinder, it is AWESOME to ride. what are you planing on doing to your phazer classicfanatic?

1997 Indy 500 L/C, motor just rebuilt: still trying to find the antifreese leak in the engine.
1992 ext 550 special(580 inside): got it, found bent drive shaft. replaced. broke more parts in under 5 minutes.

you would think that im not meant for sleds the way that they keep breaking on me
