I'm thinking of putting studs into my track as I've been sliding all over the place while trying to go ice fishing. I have a 91 Safari with a track in brand new condition. Will installing studs weaken the track? Can I get away with just putting them in the middle of the track and not the edges? Don't really use the sled for anything but ice fishing and i pull a portable hut. Thanks

you could prob put 1 in each lug and stagger them in the center, since you are only looking for traction for ice fishing.it will not weaken it with 1 in each lug,and if youre only buzzing around and goin fishing you're good to go..You could also put 2 in each lug in a "v" pattern, but i think 1 in each would be just enuff to get traction for ice fishing.

No problem putting them all down the center. I have 144 down the middle on mine.

For what you are doing 1 in each row will be plenty!
