yeah i have a 85 Indy 400.that i wanted to get a different steering shaft because the stock one is just one piece that i cant put bar risers on. also i was thinking if i could update on the arms in front because my skis are right under the sled with no stance to it at all.
thanks

you could probably update to a newer 93 94 8" style suspension, but will need all the rad rods and trailing arms and shocks etc. I dont believe the steering arm will interchange.I cut mine and welded a newer style to the top my old 87 indy trail to put a riser on cuz they are way low stock.I put good gas shocks all the way around on the sled too, and wow that was a difference maker in terms of handling and ride.

*98 XC600 and some RMK add ons
*98 XCR440 and some SKS add ons
*Some old 70s Chappral Firebird with a 1 lunger Fuji,15mph downhill on ice with a 14 mph tailwind,AND ITS FOR SALE FOR SALE!!!
*new edition to the fam.83 Polaris Star 250.givin it some TLC for the lil guys to ride

did you have to use the drop brackets?
