Our mission was to ride sleds from Wanoga Snow Park
(near Mt Bachelor in Bend, Oregon) to Elk Lake Resort
for Beers, Burgers and Fries. http://www.elklakeresort.net/

Wife couldn't go, so I called my homie Brad and asked him if he
wanted to go sleddin' He said "DUH!" so I took that as a "Yes!"

So, we loaded up the Dodge Diesel and met my friends Lane and
Jackie out at Wanoga Snow Park >>>

On the bumpy trail from Wanoga to Elk Lake Resort >>>

Jackie's Polaris Trail 550 - very nice little sled >>>

Lane's Polaris RMK 800 is Crazy! >>>

http://www.moto-guide.com/videos/2008-02...wanoga.mov

My 700 is fast, but this sled is like a PISSED OFF HORNET!

It's got pipes and a race can so it flat out hauls booty.

Give it too much gas and it just takes off like a bat outta hell. BRAAAAAPPP!

Be careful or you'll get stung!
Next stop - Elk Lake Resort

The trail goes from Wanoga Snow Park to Dutchman Snow Park out by
Mt Bachelor and then past Sparks Lake, Devil's Lake and on to Elk Lake.

Eventually we met up with the Elk Lake snow cat. He groomed the trail
completely flat allowing us to crank the snowmobiles up to the 60-80 mph range!

Finally we arrive Elk Lake Resort which is covered with about 10 feet of snow >>>

Front door is way down in the snow cave >>>

We're IN like Flynn! >>>

After Beers, Burgers and Fries it was time to head back to Wanoga Snow Park by Mt Bachelor.

Here's Devil's Lake with about 10 feet of snow on top>>>

Heading back towards Mt Bachelor on the shore of Sparks Lake >>>

http://www.moto-guide.com/videos/2008-02...chelor.mov

Mt Bachelor >>>

After Sparks Lake Lane decides to ride in the 6 foot deep powder.

My dumb ass follows him, but being the TOTAL NOOB in powder I sink into a hole and get stuck!

Jerk in the Snow >>>

We finally dig it out with the help of an experienced rider who stops to help.

He knows how to "Boondock" on the Backcountry powder and effortlessly rides it out of the hole (after a lot of digging)

Through the tunnel towards Wanoga >>>

Great ride!

THE END

Ride on,

Haven't ridden Bachelor much, more of a paulina guy myself for the moment. But me and my boy are going to hit bachelor for all of next season. Nice to catch a preview. Glad to see another Central Oregon Rider!

Yeah, we have a TON of snow here this year.

You can't even really see the resort building.

You just walk down in this "snow cave" - open
the door and you're in a fully stocked bar and
restaurant. Great food too!

Ughhh!!
Thanks for sharing those pics with the less fortunate.

I thought we had a lot of snow with 4+ feet.........That last few pictures looked like you were on a bobsled run...That bar was cool under all the snow.
