I have a 2005 rmk 700 and want to put some heavier duty torsion springs in the rear, and wanted to know how hard it would be? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks. Tim

Not hard.

Raise the rear of the sled. Loosen the front two suspension mounting bolts. Remove the back two mounting bolts. Remove the old springs. Install the new springs on the shaft, but let the bottom end of the spring hang loose beside the track. Install the rear mounting bolts and tighten the front ones. Install the spring the rest of the way, ensuring both ends of the spring are properly seated in position. Done.

With a modestly equipped workspace and the new parts in hand, I'm guessing it's a 30-minute job. I'd allow myself an hour. Ha ha.

JD is right it is very easy, actually you don't have to loosen the two front bolts. I don't have a garage or anything, I do it outside. It doesnot take long at all. Good luck, and it is worth every minute of your time. I am a big guy and I put some heavyer springs on, a world of difference.

It sounds simple enough, thanks guys. Oh yeah, someone mentioned to me about track tension after I install the heavier ones?

Just reset it afterwards, same as you would set it normally, as much slack as you can without getting ratcheting. The manufacturers always say something like a 1/2" of droop, but up to an inch and a half would do alright so long as it doesn't ratchet.

Will the .405 torsion springs off of a 2004 ProX 800 fit on my 2006 Fusion 700?
