Do you have your snowmobile insured?
It will also burn fuel faster than you can imagine, not just while taking passes but in any form of riding.
Who was that too???
Indyultra just purchased a 2007 IQ 600 and every time we filled up for gas he had burned more fuel then my XCR 800 triple. He could not believe how much better my XCR was on fuel. I get excellent gas mileage compared to many twins.
Extremefilmsproductions & roughrider99 I would like to see this stock 125 MPH SRX. The 1998 T-CAT is the fastest!
Overall DP or BS best times of the day Old forge.

98 t cat. y get a t cat. i got 3 and 4 ZRT 8's. if you mod the ZRT's and clutch them properly they will rocket off the line faster then the Tcats. ours everytime beat the t cats right thru the ground in 660'. in 1000 feet the t cat just pulls ahead at the end. runnin across shawano lake the ZRT stays right with the t cat. if u do get a t cat then get the 98. suspension is good but not as good as 01 but its still a comfy ride. the SRX's got about the same motor as my Vmax 700 trip. its got stock trip pipes tho. mine has aftermarket...my 700 goes real good and im very impressed with the yammi 700 trips. i rode it 158 miles on friday and went thru 1 1/4 tanks of gas. not too bad...but the ZRTs and t cats are usually pretty piss poor. on a good day in our modded ZRTs we get about 5-8 mpg. about same in the t cat.

The fastest 2009 sled just maybe '09 Crossfire R 1000. Shorter track baby! I told you all the Firecats would return! (sort of)
But yes, the fastest production sled ever was the '98 T-Cat. It was detuned after that just like they did to the Firecat after the '03 Firecat.
I think that the new z1 turbo will be faster than the 1000. 177 HP stock which is damn cool. It pains me to see Cat raising the top speed bar once again instead of polaris. At least their 800 is way better!
As for reliability, if it has tits, tires or burns gas, you're going to run into problems.....sooner or later.
There's no replacement for displacement!
Stock = Boring
My ride: a well massaged 2000 RMK sleeper

umm first of all buddy i said that t cat was the fastest and secondly we owned a 2000 srx 700. wat you posted was drag times in 1/4 mile or watever distance. reread my post, note i said PURE TOP SPEED the srx takes a long time to get there but a good running srx WILL get the 125 mph area on a hard pack lake. how could i be so sure? cause my dad got his to 100mph quite easily and there was plenty of throttle left i also remember it being said in a mag or two they talked about fastest stock and #1 was cat at about 130mph and the srx at approx 126mph

well buddy since your dad did it then it must be true. there has never been a sled that has came out of a crate and done 130 mph. at 100 mph you can have some throttle left. i can see that. but the amount of power it takes to get from 100 mph to 110 mph is a huge increase. at 100 mph the friction of air becomes the most limiting factor. all you kids and your daddys sled stories are just to funny, ignorant but funny. any day your dad thinks he can pull a 110 in a 1/2 mile go setup a radar.
I have a video of srx doing a 3000 foot pull on ice not snow, ice is faster, and he had to work to get 118 out of it. my buddy has the world record for stock multi pipes with his srx at 113 mph. I dont know if he could get a 125 out of it in a 3000 foot pull. if you cant get it by 3000' on ice it isnt going to happen, because by the 1/2 mile mark most sleds are heat soaked and starting to slow down
nothing goes like 3 holes!!

Ive owned an srx and been around many in the past. They are only good for 115 -120 depending on lake or trail conditions and tuning and conditoin of the sled. My srx was only good for 115. period. Never ridden a tcat so I cant compare. Dont believe it unless you ride it, what people say may not always be true

^^^ i know srx's where sorta hit and miss sled as we had raced ours stock for stock and we had wasted some and come close with others. when we took ours to dealer for service they that that it was the best performing stock srx they seen. give the srx a 1 inch ripsaw with bender weight transfer kit and they are a deadly 700. seen the thundercat mountain sleds before they were a PITA to start on cold days but they went like hell.
i would like to see the cats new turbo vs. F10 vs. T-cat to see how close they all are. as now of now it seems to be widely upheld that the Tcat is the undisputed king of speed when it comes to stock.
i ride where its steep n' deep :P

just out of curosity. whats the fastes stock sled? i mean like the fastest in MPH... are there a few or just one particular sled that just would own all the other sled? some of my friends are like AC's are slow and they act like there ski doos are unbeatable.. but i must say they are wrong... there some pretty fast AC sleds out there
Quote originally posted by Metallica19991
Yeah.. im looking to buy a T cat... what year should i buy? 98 or 01? i heard 98 was the year.. but cat freak says 01
Quote originally posted by Metallica19991
well theres a lake right by me... its literally like a 5 min drive (with sled through trails) to get there... and its a pretty big lake... i have a zrt 800 now.. do you think it will be worth it to get a t cat?
Quote originally posted by Metallica19991
some trail.. some lake... w/e i feel i guess... i guess i dont really need it... theres really no reason to be doing 100+
If I recall last week you wanted to turn you sled in to a 1000cc. That’s when I told you just to but a t cat it would save you time and money. Now you want one. O and I thought you wanted to race or something. I can't remember I don’t have the time to look ether.

madcow, your right 130 out of the crate is impossible. it was 128.6 for the t cat 1000. that was in 98. then for 99 they tamed it down (for obvious reasons) then in 01 they lit it right back up and out the crate she pulled 127.9. pretty close to 130 but thats just ridiculous to get another 1.4 mph.(sarcasm). it will be done ill put money on it. i have a weird feeling it might be done by cat too. i heard the new Z1 was a pig. JUST WORD OF MOUTH i dont know this for sure. but it seems like a lot of people on here are saying they are fast. if anyone has one post a vid or something i wanna see how they perform. i still dont like the 4 strokes tho. i heard that they are. looked it up and now just hadda brain fart and cant remember for sure now.....

4 strokes are by no means slow in my book. My dad's FST flys, very surprised by the way it performs, that turbo that cat is releasing is going to be a shoulder ripper I bet.

madcow, your right 130 out of the crate is impossible. it was 128.6 for the t cat 1000. that was in 98. then for 99 they tamed it down (for obvious reasons) then in 01 they lit it right back up and out the crate she pulled 127.9. pretty close to 130 but thats just ridiculous to get another 1.4 mph.(sarcasm). it will be done ill put money on it. i have a weird feeling it might be done by cat too. i heard the new Z1 was a pig.
Are you freaking kidding me? A 1998 T-Cat will not do 128.6 MPH stock. My T-Cat is case ported, bored carbs, shaved head, clutched, tuned can, temp flow, V force reeds, d&d deflection and other goodies and the most it has seen across a lake was 124 MPH. On average I see 108 - 115MPH. The best was 124 MPH on a groomed track on lee River Manitoba set for speed runs. That sled has never run better since. I will also say the sled has never lost to any other sled yet period!!!! Pull your head out of your ass and GPS or radar your sled!!!!!.
Cheers

The Z1 Turbo is alot heavier than the Crossfire R 1000. The Crossfire R will beat it.

My guess would be that the new 1100 turbo Cat is tuned conservativly and has lots of potential.
I know when the T660 came out it was rated at 110hp.
there were articles that staed it could be taken up to 130hp safey and easily.

thats because yours isnt stock. if you would have left it stock it would be doing 130 mph. the mags might have said they seen 130 on the speedo. I have seen the sleds it takes to do 130 in 1000'-3000'. it aint no stock sled.
