Well soem of you remember i crashed my 79 chevy about 3 or 4 weeks ago. i am still keeping that, but parking it as a repair it and put a 355 in it Well I was gonna buy another $500 truck, an 88 K-5 Blazer, but that needed work too. So I thought my dad was joking and said why dont you just get a newer truck, i shrugged it off, until my mom said he was serious. I've been looking at trucks for 2 weeks now, and finally found the one. Its a 97 chevy silverado, 350, Power everything, 5.7 motor, 130K miles. Old guy owned it since new, never towed with it, or barely hauled anything. dealer just put in a new bedliner, te truck looks liek new, only like a tad of surface rust on the frame. I worked hard for this truck, i do my own landscaping stuff in the summer, and im afriad to take this off-roading and towing and plowing with it/ might just buy a beater 4x4 to plow/ heres soem pics, what do you guys think?

A mountain lion roaming the prairie found a bull, killed it and ate the entire bull. With a heavy belly, unable to walk, the lion laid in the tall grass moaning and roaring. Soon a hunter, attracted by the roaring, shot and killed the lion. Moral: When you're full of bull, keep your mouth shut!

I got a 97 also with the same motor except its a Z71 stepside. I got 154000 on it and runs like a frikin champ yet with full power. Those are strong reliable motors if you take care of em. I dont ever let my oil change go past 3 months or 3000 miles.

P.S. Those pictures are from this week? Man you guys do gota sad winter.

Man, if you only paid 6500 for it then it woulda been a steal if it was up here. a truck like that would probably got for 7-8 grand up here. ive been looking for a truck exactly like that. I'm getting sick of the car. Thats the exact body style I want.

Nice truck! Thats the style chevy I was going to buy because I had 94 and it was getting tired. So I was going to buy one 96-98 because I like the style of them.
But I ended up buying a 2000 instead. Oh and $6,500 doesn't sound out of line at all.

Why, I had a 1998 GMC 1500 I bought new, this 97 and an 04 Avalanche. W/o problems, plus three other cars that I always drove in overdrive, never had any transmission problems.

I average 15.5 mpg. Less if driving faster than 70 or if I'm carring extra weight in the bed.

I put a hitch on it now and started towing. smells funny sometiems i know these transmissions suck. now i didnt have the electric brakes hooked up for the trailer, so could that burnt rubber smell be my brakes on my truck?? and also if the truck didnt come with a towing package, should it still have a trans cooler? truck tows the 8x20 double axle trailer real nice though!!

Look in front of the radiator and see if there is a smaller cooler there,,, that should be your tranny cooler. My 94's and 96 did.
