Oops on the AWD, but why don't you wan't a domestic? CTS in AWD is one awesome machine and if you sat in one you might agree.

I have looked at a CTS4 (sat in one, seen many of them). I like the styling of the car...it's just "too big" of a car for me. Going from a TT, everything seems big though.

I don't want a domestic because they are too common. Everyone has them and they look like everything else around here. Besides that, the build quality and interior design of the domestics just don't compare to their foreign counterparts (except in a few cases as is with the CTS).

I am talking about the Brand new CTS. They definatly are not common and their quality is just as nice as any of those. I do understand you point on the rarity of the foriegns. I do however see just as many BMW's Audi's and merscedes as I do cadillac sedans. (I live in Indianapolis)

Yes, it's American, but where do you think they got the idea for it? The G8 is basically a re-badged Holden VE Commodore which is an Australian car...

Indeed it does. Holden's their Australian subsidiary. Still a foreign car, just instead of copying a design of another company, they are implementing their own design to fit the US market.

The Goat....hmm... I heard the original Australian version was far better than the detuned POS GTO that we got.

Ya it was the Holden Lumina SS iirc. Bad ass car! Fit and finishes were much better, as well as the performance.

The GTO was no POS, it just did not have the looks. I mean seriously? Have you driven one? The main thing is though, it still goes and benefits GM an American company.

Actually, yes. Feels like a Camaro, but smoother. I think they look nice, the LS2s atleast, gfx, hoods, and rear skirt with duals make it look more bad ass, but the interiors are not that good. Steering wheel accents peel off, and it's nothing special over TAs, Camaros, Prixs, etc. I actually was looking at buying one last year, but no one could find me an LS2 in a 6 speed, so I went with a TT.

I said the Goat was a POS compared to the Australian version. Plus, can you say that it truly holds up the original GTO name? I think not. Pales in comparison.

Have I driven one? Hmm... what have I not driven is a better question. Although I can say I have only driven a handful of 08s - haven't gotten a lot of those in just yet. Nature of the business.

I raced a new GTO while on my motorcycle (actually he was racing me, I just raced back). It was fast as hell.

Just for the heck of it (I know Erick doesn't want one of these but figured I would give a list anyways)
AWD Domestics -
Dodge Caliber R/T
Ford Fusion
Mercury Milan
Ford Taurus
Dodge Avenger
Mecury Sable
Chrysler Sebring
Dodge Charger
Dodge Magnum (SXT?)
Chrysler 300
Lincoln MKZ
Cadillac CTS
Chrylsler 300C
Cadillac STS
Ford five hundred

(them are just the ones I know of and the ones I could find online, there may be others. List does not include SUV's and trucks of course)

I can't comment on the TT since it consist of 1% North American Parts content and is assembled in Germany (usatoday 2006). Swearing isn't allowed on SF

Good luck with your search erick (Cough buy american Cough)

Vote for the bimmer here, I saw the new TT today and thought it was an eclipse, it looks like something a 20 year old girl would be driving IMO.

ibreakstuff, what is the difference between the Holden and the Pontiac versions? Also what do you do for a living? I agree that it does not hold up to the name, but it does a better job of it then the charger though. I also would not say that it pales in comparison.

^ From what I gather they were imported from Austrailia.. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pontiac_GTO

Oh, and IBS - Driving cars thru the auction floor don't count

People can say whatever they want about the GTO.. but they can't say it was slow.

Not 100% of the differences as I never personally drove the Australian version. In fact I did not even know the name of it until someone mentioned it. As I stated before, I said I heard from someone - not personal experience comparing the 2 vehicles on a track side by side. My source is a good one and I'd take his word for it.

I drive cars through the lanes as much as you play with bicycle chains all day.

The Goat is slow. I said it. Maybe it's your bike that's slow?

Well for such a hot smokin car, why have 3? Are you a Pontiac dealer? Or are you really moving that many GTOs that it's important to have a choice of colors in inventory on the lot?

I never said that they were a hot car on the market. They are not. But we sell a few in the spring and summer and we are just getting ready for that. We are a Buick, Pontiac and GMC dealer. Also 0-60 in 4.7 seconds just isn't slow. How can you say its slow if you have driven it? Even the 2004 with the LS1 was fast, but the 05 and 06 with the LS2 was a lightning bolt and would smoke about anything.

I don't believe they changed a thing on the GTO from the Commodore. They however do offer a LS7 in the holden version. The Holden also looks almost identical.
