Im in the process of putting an engine back together...

I already have a torque wrench but it only goes to 150 inch/pounds.

A new one is over 150$ and i dont want to spend that much on something i only use once a year or so...

Most of the bolts i need to torque require 276 inch/pounds...So i was thinking of torquing them to 250 inch/pounds and then tighten them like half a turn more with a rigid wrench?

I dont think it matter that much?

Check your local Auto Parts store, the NAPA's around here rent tools (often free if they know you or you spend alot of time there).

Take a closer look at some stores. I got mine at Canadian tire 50% sale. It cost me 64$ and worth 128$

Do you have a harbor freight near you? They usally have some good deals on them. They seem to work just fine.

If your using a cheapo torque wrench, what does it matter? Especially with dry threads.
