hey guys,
I want to reduce the ski pressure on my '08 RR 600 for closed coursed cross country race because the steering is a bit heavy for that type of racing espically when there is few left and right turns in the race.
is there a way to reduce ski pressure for easier less effort turns?

take the rear blocks and move them back an inch or so you may have to drill a hole or tightin the front track shock

I wonder if its possible to re-locate the rear skid to a lower mounting position like drill a hole lower for the front mount and install a rear hang off plate to lower the rear mounting position. the 2004 pro xr 440 had that optional mounting position but I had to drill a hole lower in the front mount to lower the front torque arm.I think I will do that but kinda nervous about it. what do you guys think of the idea?

bisshy is right just tighten up the spring on your front track shock and itll make a big difference, also i dont know if th rrs have the skids from the 05s or the newer sleds but if they're like the 05s the front of the track rides about 2in off the ground when you lift the back bumper so the rear suspension is all the way relaxed.
assuming thats so check out www.akracing.com and go to their garage and look at the IQ skid mod it lowers the front of the skid so its touching the ground and you get better traction, easier turning, and an overall improvement in the sled.
if you can gt your hands on a wide front end from an 07 or newer do that to they are waayyyy way nicer.

You can buy shorter spindles that are suposed to help drastically. Brad from Poweraddiction over on hcs makes some that I've heard really good things about. Actually there are a set on ebay right now

hey i will have a full XC setup soon for you that you can do including a skid reloaction, shock valving, shocks shortning (ski shocks) to be the cham XC racing machine. similar to the stup gade bunke was running at the end of the year last year but even better.
