I think we will have a hard time finding open trails. The ground got too warm and the snow is melting from underneath. Clubs will realize that this will cause alot of damage and be a mess and keep them closed.

^^^That doesn't mean trails are open. You could be riding illegally.
None are open in southern Wisconsin, don't know about IL.

and you wonder why trails are shutting down every year. it people who ride on them when they are closed that makes the land owners not let them put the trails on there land anymore. So if local trails get shut down you have noone to blame but yourself

Hey Rottmann, I know it's after the fact, but if you ride on "closed" trails, you put the rest of us in the same category. You're gonna make landowners think we all have the same "above the law" attitude. Do the rest of us a favor and stop in and visit those landowners on your way by and let them know who you are. Time to own up and respect those who give you the "PRIVELEGE" to ride.

^ Check your local clubs website or something. Every club is different. If you didn't ride on anyone's land then what trails did you ride?
Punks like you piss me off. Its a privilege, not a right.
Thanks for contributing to lost trails for us. If you were local to me I would do everything I could to get your registration numbers and turn you in.

This is actually quite funny, there is a sticky right at the top of the trail conditions page just for questions like that titled "Wisconsin Trail Conditions".
If you had a hard time finding that, you are probably the type that would drive right past a sign that says "closed trail"...All the Washington and Ozaukee county trails have had them signs for a couple of weeks now. Today I passed four snowmobile trails driving to Port Washington (in my Jeep)to see that absolutely no one has ridden the trails, glad to see people around here actually care.
Morons like you are why trails shut down...
I like to ride. Even if you have a Doo/Yami/Cat/Poo, so be it. I bought my snowmobile to have fun, not to tell everyone mine is better than yours. My preference...POLARIS, BABY!

there are numerous clubs in Illinois and if you buy a trail map all the numbers are posted for the clubs to call if the trails are open. I know Illinois is not like Wisconsin and Michigan with great trails and snow amounts but we have clubs and numbers to call and we loose enough trails to development every year lets not loose any to stupidity

Pretty much all counties have a Trail Condition Hotline.
You just have to find it, if you're riding in Wi. Check the AWSC link in My trail condition's thread that's stickied at the top of this forum.
Click the link, then click on Club's by County, when the map come's up click on the county you're looking to ride, and it will provide club info, link's to club website's, and usually has the hotline number.
Even if the hotline number is'nt on that page usually one or more of the club site's will have it.
Please Preserve Our Trail's, Check Before You Ride!

UMMM, I don't know but maybe Rottmann583 really is not aware of how the trail system works in his area. It seems he hangs around this thread yet after getting ripped on. Might be a chance to actually educate someone and he might actually learn from it. If there is anyone in his area that has specifics on how this all works let him know. If he comes back saying I don't care the heck with landowners than I guess he really doesn't care.
If he really doesn't know please save the "He shouldn't even be on the trail than" because everybody had to learn the rules somewhere.
