'98 Polaris Indy Trail Touring.. just recently bought with over 4,000 miles on it. Seller said he put $1300 into it, but not sure what he did.. got it and had to fix starter (knew that) battery was frozen needed to be replaced.
Paid $1000 for the sled and don't have the $$ to go overboard.. need it to get around to haul wood in the winter.

Issue: Very soft rear suspension.. bottoms out with 2 on it.. neither one of us is over 190 lbs.

Some say adjust springs.. some say shock.. Springs were on lowest setting, bumped them up one notch.. today, the sled bottomed and then stayed there.. never came back up even after both of us were off it.

We don't mind trying to stiffen it up by adjusting, but if it stays down, is that something wrong with the shock .. springs.. or just something an adjustment would take care of. We put it on the jack in the sun and the track eventually came down. Couldn't feel anything iced up on it before sunning it.

It should be the Indy Select if it wasn't replaced before. I know others suggest the Fox for a replacement, but we'd have to look into the cost diff. because we don't know if we'll be keeping it longer than an average shock lifetime. There are some bumps we go through being on a hill, but not too bad.

was it stored inside or outside? and your shocks are prob done, this happened to my front shocks this year, sled was stored outside went and played in the powder sleds front end sunk down and stayed, put her in front of the fireplace for 45 mins and they popped back out to normal. Might want to change your shocks though.

Stays outside.. was 16 degrees this a.m. not any worse than yesterday and although it goes down, it always came back up when you get off the sled. Going to try stiffening up the springs and shock first.. but looking on the internet for shocks.. any good sites or best to go to the dealer?
