im sure most can figure out im talking about the thing cirled in red, but anyways it connects right into the trailing arm and helps move the suspension up and down and runs underneath the motor all the way out the otherside and is in the same spot and does the same thing (again most no this) but why i need to know because the little square piece that holds this in part of it has chipped off and you can hear it clang and there is alot of play in them, i dont no if this is a problem or not but any help as to what its called would be awesome because im probably going to have to order a new one and it looks like a pain to put in as well, hopefully someone knows im not the best at explainations if i need to get better pictures or anything i can do that tomorrow this was the best one i had of it though.

it a stabilizer arm
It helps the sled against body roll. Mine are removed for carving, boondocking and hillclimbing and what not. with them in it preevnts the sled from trying to roll over on corners.

Its not a tie rod... Its your stabilizer bar..
The part your talking about is the plastic retainer block that holds in place in the belly pan... It should have 3 rivets holding it it.. It really isnt a terrible deal if its moving up and down... It will be fine.. Should also be inexpensive to fix all you need is a new block and some rivets and you will be good to go...
Also the stabilizer bar doesnt help your suspension do anything... It actually limits it from moving independently on its on.. So basically it ties one side of your suspension to the other... Personally i always take the bar out and run without it... Some people dont like that however because they say it makes the sled push in the corners and on the trails..
Its really personal preference if you keep it or not.

If it connects to both side trailing arms, in a little plastic piece, it is the sway bar, not the tie rod. Is the plastic block broken out all together? Mine is a little loose and rattles when the sled is idling. I think I will replace mine this summer. They aren't that bad to get at, as long as the the bolts holding the (brain fart) two rods in front of the spindle aren't rusted in to bad. Pull the two bolts out, you would be able to pull the trailing arm out a little to get the block in and out again. Make sure the front of the sled is supported in the air a little.
I must type to slow. 4 people responded before I finished.

It will act like a completely different sled with the sway bar out. it will feel more tippy and will push corners more-so then with it in. On a plus side though, carving will be A LOT easier. try it out and if you like it in better, its easy enough to put back.

My mom hit a culvert w/ my dad's sled last season...those are pretty easy to replace...we tipped the sled on it's side, it was easier that way. good luck with that!

If you're talking about the sway bar slide I think you'll be fine without it for a while but I would replace it asap so you don't bent the slot that the sway bar goes through on the trailing arm. If the chipped part is a hard plastic rectangle that sits in a slot on the trailing arm then its the slide block.
As for reliability, if it has tits, tires or burns gas, you're going to run into problems.....sooner or later.
There's no replacement for displacement!

It is a tie rod end. I think those are very important because those help with stabilizing the sled. How it managed to chunk off Idk . Probably hit something and slowly wore until it snapped off.

My stabilizer slide blocks are worn out also. It took me a while to figure out what was making the clack/clank sound because it only happens on rough trails. I'm working on the front suspension this summer and think I will remove the bar. Like was said earlier, it's easy to put back in and as it is now I find I am fighting the sled to get it to carve at all.
I vote for try it without

You should be able to unbolt the two rods on the front of the trailing arm, I can't think of what they are called right now. There is one bolt in each, with the front up in the air of course, pull the trailing arm away from the sled a little so the sway bar comes unhooked. The slider slides in from the backside I think, it just slides out, and slide your replacement in. push the trailing arm back in place so the sway bar is in place and bolt the two rods back in.
