I thought i would share this with the people on here cause just about every month theres a topic on what to use or how-to shine aluminum. Im a semi-truck driver and through other drivers and the grapevine i herd them talkin about this polish they use on their trucks. so i took notes and finally made some of my own, needless to say it works pretty good.
Ingredients:
-2 jewlers rouge bars (green and white) (Find them on ebay)
-mineral sprits (local hardware store)
-liquid wax (any autoparts store)
How-To:
1st break 2 decent size pieces off the rouge bars (both colors), wrap it in a thick cloth and smash it with a hammer, you can use other methods if you want the object is to break down the bar to a fine dust and the small pieces. then dump the pieces/dust into a jar filling it about 1/3. next add alittle mineral sprits roughly about 1/3, and finally add your liquid wax another 1/3 and mix it together with a paint stick or whatever you have while mixing try to grind some of the bigger pieces that might be in the jar. let settle for a few min just to test the density, then if you have to take alittle baking soda and throw in just to thickin it up alittle. Then there ya have it you own aluminum polish.
the lighter fluid is just a add on to cut through the grime and crap but i hear it creates a rainbow type color/tarnish if mixed with water.. (i didnt use none in my mix personal preferance though)
Basically you use it just like any other polish dip a rag in alittle of it buff it on till the black residue shows and polish off.
heres a few pictures of things ive used it on and what it looks like when its made.
