The main reason the debate was really going in this thread was people that were spewing BS about things that they have no knowledge of. Take EFP for example, that kid clearly doesn't know his ass from his elbow, yet he still posts this nonsense that he made up. Everyone else was just trying to clean up his mess before someone thought what he posted was true information.

And look who started it. the fist comment in this thread was the new 800 wouldnt beat the 800xcr

1st of all the real weight of the xp is 439.

3rd the Dragon 800sp has the Ripsaw track 1.25.

How do you guys think a 2 stroke triple engine would do on a sno-x track compared to a 2 stroke twin??

Who is riding what? what chassis are they in? what is the track layout? This list could go on, and on, and on.......kinda like every "this vs. that" question there is(within reason).

As for reliability, if it has tits, tires or burns gas, you're going to run into problems.....sooner or later.

They'll probably make a 4 cylinder 2 stroke engine just to piss you guys that love triples off.haha Wouldn't that be Ironic. You said (post 113) more than two, but that does not nesessarily mean 3 cylinders.

water craft triple very heavy. watch when he goes by, its on rear wheels!! not some flat track with the skis in the air like the 800 iq video.
a 600 mod cfi triple would have more bang off the line and quicker coming out of corners. since the motor would rev a lot higher you could gear it lower, that helps with take off and acceleration. the little bit of wieght change would not affect a pro rider one bit.

so basically you are talking about yours with that can you have on there??? or is it someone elses now???
you used to be all for triples, infact i think it was a month or two ago you wanted to buy mine, until it came up that i wasnt going to give it away. i think in the past 3 or 4 months you have actaully been buying about 30 diff sleds from "red rocket" 440's to prox's and now it looks like fusions...

yes, I dont think my can is as annoying as the stight piped kind of stingers. And yes I did want all of those sleds but guess what.. I thought to myself for a second why by a older sled when I already have a old one... makes no sence so sense i have rode my buddys fuse 700 and i liked it i decided that, that will hopefully be the next sled i own it handles better than my sled, fast, rides so much better too. Oh yea and I still like triples to

not to sound like a nag or anything but lets not turn this into a personal thing between people, lets stick to facts.

its only a twin vs triple thing because they have yet to beat there old standard. until they come out with a twin that can be built up to beat a built up triple, the argument is a valid one. I dont care what you drive or what your neighbor has thats faster than what. fact is so far in the last 8 years of having the 800 twin trying to pass up the triple it hasnt happened. in stock hp out of the box they are close, the twin might even have a couple hp. but they are not on equal grounds and the triple still posted higher speeds at the shoot outs.

Polaris made some of the most prolific and mod-able sleds in the 90's and the majority of them were triples. Polaris led the snowmobile market until the late 90's. Polaris had a sled motor design that was second to none. It start in 1993 with the 750 storm. These same basic principals would be used in the design of the Ultra motor, 800 Storm motor, 600 XCR SP motor, and the 800 XCR motor. Now three of the 4 motors had enormous potential which Polaris never released from the factory beyond the XCR 800. The 750 storm had bugs that were fixed in the 800cc version and this motor considered a dog from the factory is a modders dream. The 680 Ultra, 105 stock HP was a beast once you applied a set of triple pipes to it and increased the operating RPM. The Ultra piped has one of the lowest cc/HP ratios out there. The 800 XCR was a 150 HP beast straight off the factory floor. Put a little lovin into it and you produced 180 HP and as Madcow has proven you can make em run 120 MPH on the dragstrip.

I'm 22 years old. In 1991 when my sled was introduced into the Polaris lineup I was 4 and a half years old. Now I chose to buy my sled because I loved it when I was a kid and I knew it was fast as hell when I was a kid. And guess what it's still fast as hell. But I guess I look at the other young pups on this site and ask, do you remember the roots of the technology your using on your sleds today? No? Let me run this at you guys, the triples experimented with reeds. Ski-Doo used to run a rotary valve, then they ran reeds because by running reeds they eliminated the rotating mass and the mechanical parts in the motor. Electronic fuel injection, guess what, this started with my sled. A 1991 RXL was one of two production sleds that year with EFI, the other was the 500 SP. Crankcase design is a huge one, don't know if you guys realized that the same basic designed used on the 750 storm was used on the XCR 800. Tell me they didn't figure out something with that motor design. Suspension, hmmm, the standard 8 to the XC101, to the Xtra 10 and 12. The exhaust design software that we see today wouldn't be around if guys like Aaen, PSI, Decker, and SLP didn't sell triple pipes in the 80's and 90's. All were developed on sleds with triples. So maybe you young guys should show a little respect for the triple because it was an important part of snowmobiling history and will be part of the snowmobiling future. Instead all I hear is it's old technology. Guess what one cylinder doesn't make it old technology. The two-stroke has been around for over 100 years, there have been two cylinder two-strokes for as long as triples. The technology that you guys should be talking about is the intake technology, and the exhaust technology. Never did a triple see semi direct injection in a sled. No motor has seen direct injection yet in a sled. And it's coming, and once it does it's going to be a different game.

Cause I don't give a rats about who took second or 12th for that matter your just the next loser in a long line of many losers.
