I have an '02 XC 600 that is no longer holding the coolant. I dont think its the head gasket because it doesnt seem to be burning the coolant as it isnt smoking more than normal while its running however it doesnt seem to be coming out the overflow hose either. I saw today that it is dripping out the belly pan on the left hand side but the resivoir is on the right. Would this just be a problem with a leaky hose? thanks.

could be a coolant hose leaking (rubbed thru.loose clamp).the hoses the goto the front and tunnel heat exchangers are in the area.Your gonna have to get a pressure tester and pump up the cooling system and check good for the leak.Do not pump more pressure in than the cap is rated for or you'll blow out something else.Usually autozone or other parts stores will rent you tools like that if you or some1 you know doesnt have one.

*98 XC600 and some RMK add ons

I would first check the hoses, see if they rubbed somewhere. Check to see if the coolant bottle is warped also. How many miles on this sled? If over 6000 I would be putting set of head gaskets in it. I just had to do it to my 700 as I was blowing coolant out the bottle.

They got it nailed I bet. Check all hoses and like xcr440 said, check the top of the coolant bottle, it could be warped...I have bought 2 for my sled.

deffiantly check the hoses, or try letting it run and isle and check the hoses and such with a brite flashlite/work lamp to see if you can see where it is leaking from, is it a fast leak or a drip?

Well I had it just idling in the driveway the other day and it seemed to be just dripping but the last time I rode it I was down half the bottle in probably 20 mins...
