Well I figured I would start a thread because believe it or not we have a lot of Firefighters and E.M.T/Paramedics on here. I think this will be a cool little thread. Enjoy fellas! If you guys would like to you can introduce your selfs what you are in the fire service being a firemen, emt, paramedic ect, and the name of your fire company, also if you are paid or volunteer.

Great idea Steve -

I've been a Firefighter/EMT for the past 8 years with the Springfield Fire Department here in the small town of Springfield, Minnesota. Our fire department is a volunteer department with 26 members. We do get paid $7.50 per hour when on a fire call and a retirement pension of $1,250.00 per year of service. I've also been filling the role of department secretary for the past 3 years which means taking minutes at meetings, typing up letters, as well as other paperwork in general.

Here are a couple of pictures of our fire station and some of our trucks.

Just remember, if you do not ask, you will not get the answers.

I have been a Firefighter for what will be 3 years in October, I am a interior firefighter and a R.I.T team member as well. I am with the Taberg Volunteer Fire company with about 45 active members out of 100. After I graduate college I would like to run for lieutenant or for captain but that is not for 2 or 3 years. Here are some pics:
