I've changed the crank seals... is it the bearings I need to change? It was running ok until I noticed one plug kept fouling without running... so tried to remove float/jets.. managed to break carb. Anyways, replaced seals, and put in different carb, kept running lean/plug white... thanks for any pointers/help.

I am not sure what type of sled or any of the conditions. But it sounds like you have one plug going black and one plug going white? You've gone through the carbs and have looked for air leaks well don't forget if the diaphragm for the fuel pump is broken and if the fuel pump pulse line is on the mag side it can cause extra fuel to enter the crankcase through the pulse hose and foul the mag plug

Sled is a 04' mxz 380. I checked the crank bearings. Not sure what is good or bad. Brearings seem to be moving on outer ring a little sideways but not vertically? What's the best way to check if bearings need replacing? It has approx. 5000-7000 kms. Fuel pump pulse line is on PTO side. The jet plunger? (not sure the right name) kept getting stuck, which caused gas running down drain line?....

needle and seats?? maybe the carb boot ,I would attack this engine with some ether to see if its sucking air ,(base gaskets) (crankcase mating surface) etc if not has to be carb

yup, let the engine running idle and spray som brake cleaner or ether near the carb boots or crank seals, and the base. If rpm goes up, the engine is sucking air where it sould not. If the rpm stay at idle, you will have to rejet!
