Hey guys, my last ride for the season a few weeks ago I blew a hole in my rear cooler and lost all coolant. It got a little warm but not warm enough to do any damage. I bought a new cooler and now it keeps blowing the coolant out the over-flow. Is it just that full of air or what is the deal? I lifted the front when i was filling it also. When its running the coolant will come up and out the over-flow then when i shut it off it will take all the coolant from the resivoir. I've let it get warm, then shut it off to cool, and still does it. I've tryed squeezing the hoses while its running. Ive repeated this a few times. I'm just not sure what to try next. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I was told from a friend up here at arctic cat to take the thermostat out and pour some coolant right in the water pump. Is this my next best bet??

sounds like you need to bleed your system. from what ive heard all you need to do is to open your fill cap and just set it on and start up the sled and let it warm up and any and all air bubles should come out and if needed add colant! same idea with closed systems on cars/trucks.

any one looking for sled parts check out http://www.smartrecparts.com they have about every thing from new to old!

On my M7 Ive never had to touch the overflow but when the sled is cold you cant even see the coolant in the bottle. Im thinking you just have too much in it. Next time you run it feel all the hoses and coolers to make sure they are warm and have coolant running through them. If so then you shouldnt have any worries.

Hey thanx guys. Monster Jay the coolers were warm the last time I ran it. So u think its fine then? You dont have any coolant in your resivoir when its cold? Before i put the new/used cooler on the coolant was always right at the fill line. Also do u think I could have a thermostat sticking closed? Thanks alot.

If the thermostat was sticking closed then the coolant in the rear cooler would stay cold. Can never see the coolant in my reservoir when the sled is cold. Its been like this since I bought it new.
