...so just say you need help with your polaris...its soo confusing trying to figure out what forum to put it in, like theres gerenal, the preformance tuning shop, polaris forum, and that makes it really hard for people to help others...because not as much people go in just say the preformance tuning shop under all the sub-forums...is there a way to change it?
Actually it's quite simple, your just making it more complicated then it really is. I'll explain using your example. Lets say you keep fouling plugs.
Well to start, you need help with your Polaris sled, so automatically General is ruled out, since it's not about snowmobiling in general. That leaves the Performance Tuning Shop and the Polaris section.
Well it's a performance issue, so it goes under the Performance Tuning Shop. It's not a guage and instrumentation issue, a suspension and chassis issue, a clutching issue, nor a How To issue. That leaves Engine. Tada! You have now found the section to post your problem.
So what's the Polaris section for you may ask?
Here is a couple of examples -
"Anyone with experience on the '92 Indy 500's?"
"How big of a riser can I get on my Pro-X without throttle cable extensions."
"Your thoughts on the '09 Polaris lineup."
Hope that clears it up for you.
As far as why there are so many sections - It detours responses from people that don't know what they are talking about. Someone without any mechanical knowledge whatsoever wouldn't be browsing the Performance Tuning Shop to help people out, but on the other hand he/she may really be into Mountain Riding.
It also raises the chances that people with knowledge in those areas will see your post and respond to it. Because we all know half the time the titles don't really get the point across.
The thing with performance issues is that they are generally the same idea across the board, whether it be Arctic Cat, Ski-Doo, Polaris, Yamaha, John Deere, Scorpion, etc... So a rider who bleeds yellow can still help a rider who bleeds green, but you probably wouldn't find him/her browsing the Arctic Cat section.
