I was pondering summer projects and I was thinking it would be cool to put my xlt engine in a Pro-X 440 chassis. I know it can be done because I saw that 800 triple on here awhile ago. The only problem is finding a chassis. I was thinking about getting a 440 fan and routing the cooling stuff because those chassis seem to be going cheaper. I know it would be more work but I have all summer. Would it be difficult to mount the engine in there?

a 99 440 edge xcr would be the best one to do it to. you can buy the complete sled for 1500-1800 bucks. sell the engine and stuff for a couple hundred.
the rear skid is a lot different then the trail edge sleds,
any edge body up to 02 is very easy. 03 04 prox took a little more work because of the shape of the bulk head and steering post.

they still might be better than a newer one, because there steering is closer to an early edge design more than a late model prox. there is a little bulk head trimming for the recoil?

you might be able to use the twin motor straps and just make new holes?
if you went with the stock single exhaust it would be a peice of cake. if you went with triple pipes you will have to make them fit.
