ok i just bought an old suzuki qaud but the guy sopposley lost the owners ship. Would i be able to get a new one or did i get screwed. ?......... thnx

I would get a bill of sale from the seller that states the price as well as the make, model, and serial number of what you purchased. Have the seller and the buyer both sign the bill of sale which will comfirm that you both agree on the transaction. Bring that paper into the license bureau and see if they have any problems giving you registration from that.
Just remember, if you do not ask, you will not get the answers.

you didnt get screwed but you do have a headache on your hands. i just went through the same thing in NY, i dont know your laws, but i needed a written bill of sale, two different dmv forms filled out, and a tracing and photo of the vin.
after all that is correct, you get a non transferable reg, when all the paper work is cleared by the state, you get mailed a transferable reg.
HUGE pain in the a$$ but once you get a transferable reg (in my case) its makes the machine worth a whole heck of alot more!!
