Could I replace my running boards on my sled? Anybody know any companies that make running boards for the ZX chassis? More snow clearing boards. I've heard snow eliminators are junk. Fastlane No-snos are better but they're only for Cats.

Well, there 1 peice of your sled. If your going to be getting a new tunnel, I'd get the LAND-AIR x-package tunnel. I get almost no snow build up, I just put self-tapping grips and they work awesome.

You can buy rox running boards. They just fit over top of your stock ones. All they do really is make them wider, and stronger. But your snow will still stay on your running boards. They don't help anything for that.
It depends on what you want. Do you want wider/stronger boards? (rox sled treads) or better snow shedding abilities? (snow eliminators, or better boards from F-bomb racing.) Those are really your only options out side of buying a new tunnel.

Yes, I do mean the ZX-X tunnel, but I'm pretty sure it was only in 02', not positive on that.

I think this summer I am going to try and make my own running boards for my zx chassis. I am going to try and do mine like the F-Bomb racing IQ RMK raw 660 one. I will get a sheet of aluminum and cut it and bend it to rivit to the tunnel and then I am going to use some steel tubing for the outside of it for strength.I might try aluminium tubing but I am not sure if it will be strong enouph.I hope to start this project in about a month.

If your looking for something to drop the snow better your going to have to look for an aftermarket tunnel...not cheap either.

Just drill 1" holes in your existing tunnel and get some wish bones.

That makes sense to me? Would be the easy and not that expensive.
Did you mean to say "Fish-Bones"

Hey trick, I think he did mean fishbones.
Or, how about this, cut a bunch of half inch wide lines, about an inch and a half wide, 2 inches apart, then where there is still space, bend some aluminum to fit your tunnel/runner boards, and then add the fishbones, very strong, and will work more effeciantliy than fish bones. And for traction, buy self tapping screws with really pointy ends. Thats what is done to mine, and they work amazingly.

i think im goint to go for the rox running boards. but mabey because they're stronger and they make em wider.
but i may make my own set of no snos or snow eliminators. my buddy ran a solid tube of aluminum down his running board edges and that works amazingly, gotta make sure it aluminum though, but thats also alot of weight.

Anybody use these boards? I dont like the idea that they go over your old boards. seems like a good place for lots of snow to gather.
Does anyone offer running boards?

I think I am going to make my own this year.I worked at a welding shop for school awhile back so I have acces to aluminum, sheers and metal benders. I am going to cut my old one right off and then make a template out of cardboard and then take it to the welding shop and get it cut and bent. Im not sure what I should use for the outside of the running board, steel or aluminum.I would like to use aluminum but not sure if it will be strong enouph. If mine works good I wouldn't mind building a few more if people would want them.
