My choice of fish. Walleye. The season doesnt open up for another month so im patiently waiting. The majority of my fishing is done on the Minnesota River since i live right by it.

I like fishing for Pike and Muskie but also love Small mouth and large mouth bass.
Best spot in Northern Wisc. Is the Manitowish Chain. Huge everything in there and spoons and white bucktails work great!!!!! Best fish I have caught there was a 52 inch muskie, and a 6 pound smallmouth. Star lake is incredibly clear and you can see the bottom in more than 20ft of water. Fish around the outside edges of weed beds on slopes that go from a few ft straight down to 10-15 ft. At night the smallies walleye and some nice muskies move into the large shallow sand flats. Also great pike and muskie can be found in the channels.
My best luck has been in Spider lake, Star lake(the really clear one) and Rice lake(tons of weeds) and almost any channel.

We primarily fish Walleye up in these parts...some occassional perch if they feel like biting. I usually make my own spinners/lindy rigs...though the greens/chartreuses usually seem to work the best.

My dad and I used to go out many times a summer. My dad had an uncle who, over time, got rather ill and could not really function properly. He was a huge fisherman, but he could not drive his boat anymore in fear of him getting lost. That is where we pitched in, and took him out on the lake. We used his pickup, his boat, and his gear...so we were really out nothing, and were doing a good deed in the mean time. He past away a few years now. I haven't been out in a couple years since. Just too busy with life I guess. Might have to look into changing that this summer.

A mountain lion roaming the prairie found a bull, killed it and ate the entire bull. With a heavy belly, unable to walk, the lion laid in the tall grass moaning and roaring. Soon a hunter, attracted by the roaring, shot and killed the lion. Moral: When you're full of bull, keep your mouth shut!
