I washed off my sled the other day with plans of putting it away. So I washed under the hood and every where. Up till that point my sled tach had been working fine. Just like normal, then it got cold and dumped about 7 inches of snow on us. So I started it up and ripped around for a while, but I noticed my tach isn't working right. It still shows 1500rpm at idle, still says I'm engaging at 4050rpm like normal, but after that it seems to be out. It will max out at 7000 when I punch it, then drop to about 6000-6500. But the sled is running the full 8000rpm, I can feel and hear it. It seemed to be running awesome. So the tach is out, why though? could some wires or plugs have gotten water in em? Or what would make it do this?
