OK guys-I need help
Just bought a used 06 600 rmk 144" carbed w/800 miles supposedly clutched and jetted for high altitude- rode twice but didn't pull the hills like i thought it should. At full throttle was only getting 65 mph before DET would kick my rpm's back down. Third ride out it was mid 40's temp and light snow pack to packed conditions. Started running hot and couldn't get it to cool down. Pulled front cover to let more air into radiator-packed running boards and engine compartment with snow, had my ice scatchers down the whole time but no help. Whenever i could get it cooled off i could only ride for 5 minutes top before overheat again. Now when i start the sled the temp light automatically comes on and won't go out. Any help would be greatly appreciated. 1st two rides were ok except for the pulling and top speed other than that it sounded and handled just fine. OH and it has stock pipe with silencer(not sure of the make). I'm running 9-12k in altitude

It was done at the dealer where i bought it. Calls for a 60/40 blend-i wondered that myself? Talked to mechanic there and he said clutching and jetting should be right on for where i'm riding and he said it shouldn't be DET like it is. Overheating probably caused a problem with temp sensor.
I have to take it back which will be a pain as they are 3 hrs. from me(one-way)

I thought so also- my wife drives my old 99 500 rmk which ran perfect that same day and it runs on straight anti-freeze no mix.

You should not run stright antifreeze because stright antifreeze freezes at -8 degrees and does not disapate heat as well as water thats why you have to mix it. You can mix it 70/30% maximum.
