What kind of problem might I be looking at. I did a compression test on my motor and one cylinder had 128psi and the other had only 75. Engine still runs but lost alot of power.

any ideas what might be wrong before i rip the engine apart? I know my way around the motor a little bit. Will this be to much for me to tackle?

Its a 99 yamaha vmax 500.

It could be as small as a ring or as big as a crank bearing. You wont know until you tear in to it. Anything on the top end is a pretty easy job. Just take your time and take a lot of digital pictures for reference if you arent sure of something.

i find it hard to believe it's still running with only 75 psi in one cylinder.
like Monsterjay said, you never know until you open up the motor what your getting into.

Trust me, I took it out and was running bad so I turned around and went home. Put atleast 15 miles on it like that. Even shut it down a few times on the trail to try to figure out what was wrong and always restarted on a pull or 2.
