So, guy wants to trade me for my MXZ. 2003 REV-X 440 with a blown motor, and maybe a couple hundred dollars once i get the money.
Alright, since I'm a trail rider as well as a jumper, the only thing holding me back is jetting.
1.How often do I rejet?
2.Can I do it at the side of the trail when I need?

Don't give him money on top of your sled. I don't really know skidoos, but a blown 440 that was probably raced isn't worth more than a year older 700.

what are you going to do wiht the blown motor. You could replace wiht like a 600 or somethign.
1st of all the real weight of the xp is 439.
2nd it is how the engine makes the hp through out the rpm range.
3rd the Dragon 800sp has the Ripsaw track 1.25.
4th ,you have no idea of what you are talking about.
5th get the F-CK out and stop bashing.
6th your Mach z 1000 is a chit box.
I may be a retard, but I'm the smartest one I know.

Well, one cylinder needs to be re-coated, and he wants to trade for my sled in its current state.

i say go for it the rev chassis will be a big upgrade and will improve riding ability over night. the rider forward just makes u more confident in the corners. is say look around for a 440 without a blown motor. he may not be telling u the truth about what really needs to be fixed.

^^ Motor is already out of the sled, and it comes with a set of pistons in the box.
James. Rev vs ZX. Rider forward vs original. SC-3 vs SC-10 III. 1.5" track vs worn down 1" track. Pro Taper bars vs Rev-X 440 bars. Can handle almost anything I throw at it.
James, maybe it's just you that doesent understand how good of a deal that is. I have no problem with motor work, just a sorta hard time with rivets and screws. lol.

Did the person add oil injection to the 440. I my self would stick with what you have now or trade the person straight across and not give him extra money. Your mxz you have now can handle lots of jumps and it will be more reliable than that 440. That 440 probally has been raced in the past so if you are going to go take a look at, look it over really good for cracks or bends and check the shocks to see if they might need to be rebuilt.

I would do it right away. Like stated above i wouldn't give any cash though. The 440 will be just as reliable as your 700. The 440 i have is the only sled i have not had a mechanical issue with yet.

Do you know what has been trail converted on it. Did the person just put the trail heads on it or did he do everything(heads, 10 gallon tank, and oil injection).Mixing gas isn't that bad for the first little bit but after awhile it gets to be a pain.

every 20 deg or so. Or you could jet for the coldest temps you will see and then ride it from there.

I have no issue with pre-mixing, so oil injection I dont need. I know how to pre-mix really good from 2 seasons ago, 600 miles of pre-mixing with a 340, and most of the time WOT.

Shawn Prior said the same about how often to jet. But now, he also said that I have to always have the presice jetting. I think I'll just get an ATTAC setup. $230+ shipping and a little work is not bad at all. Also, it still has the race tank, which will of course be changed because i love doing 100+ mile days.

You arnt beinh a little jack ass in this thread so iam gonna give you my honest no sarcastic opion. If you can rebuild the motor easly, do it! I personly would split the crank but iam sure thats fine. If you can rebuild a motor you can jet with no problems, for that sled once you get your base lines it takes nothin to change the mains, take off air box, take off carb from intake boots, take out the drain plug, unscrew jet, put in bigger or smaller one and reasemble. The problem i had with mine was it was slow, bad on gas and jettin was a pain when you just wanted to go for a ride or something to the bar at night.

That ZX should handle anything you "throw" at it. sorry buddy, I dont see the point in getting the rev if you cant ride to the abilitys of the sled you already own.
