well ive taken my 02 800 xcsp to the asphault drags for two weekends now... yesterday i was WFO down the track and as soon as i went throught the traps (finish line) i heard an abnoxiously loud bang, at first i thought i was another victim of an 800 crank failure until i saw it was still idling steady.
i ended up having to push the thing the last 100 feet or so...
i pull out of the way and start picking the peices out and cuting the string off the primary, a peice about 8 inches long somehow made it under the engine lol

FYI - eighth pass on the belt

the result - a shredded belt at 108.8 mph

ice snow or grass ill still kick your a**

Nice. I busted 2 belts this year. Both of them were 3 yrs old. One at 95mph and the other after landing in sticking snow at full rpms. Both times I thought the DD grenaded. Most of the belt turned to lint and there were a few small pieces on my running board. Its a terrible feeling for a split second.

108.8 is a nice speed. Im sure you can break `115.

If you didn't have crank problems before you will now. Usually after blowing a belt like that is when the crank problems start.
