I believe the Guard has a 2 year active, but your basically "on call" for the next 6 years. Don't qoute me on that, but I believe that's what the recruiter told me. I would assume then that the Army Reserves would be the same.
*Edit* - I was wrong. It's 3 years active for the Guard. Both Army guard and Air Guard.

I'm finding it's the same for all of the reserves, I can't find where it specifically states it for Navy reserves though, but Army and Marine reserves did.
I know with the Guard you had to do the 6X2 to get alot of the benefits, it was the same for the Army and Marine Reserves.
Why are you thinking 2 years?
