	polaris 2001 600 xcsp small block - piston rings install honing cylinders? started by rudy65

	I have an 01 polaris 600 XCSP I got this sled cheep and the motor was rebuilt but they put the pistons in backwards and then took it appart and put them in the right way but I think they might have wrecked the rings so when i got it I did a compression test and both were low 90's psi. so i dissassembled the top end and one piston is slightly scored but the jugs look ok but are very smooth should I hone these befor installing new pistons and rings? i will be checking with dealer but for now any help would be appricated thanks R...... 	Thanks for the reply I dont really dont know anything about the jugs if they have an Iron linner or are plated with something I cant tell by looking at them. I have never had to do this kinda work to the motor. I usually have new sleds but this was a good deal its a fixer upper. 	Hi ya'all heads shot no need for pictures but if anyone has good head for a small block 600 e mail but for now just going to start from scratch maby sell whats left for parts and both heads are shot.
