So when I bought my viper at the begining of the year It had a one year old track on it and i realized that it had a small crack around where the trailing arm mounts to the running board. So now the crack is a bit bigger and I need to weld it. I've never welded alumininum before, and all I have is a 115 mig with argon with aluminum wire. Do you think that welder can handle it? Or should i get someone with a tig to weld it for me? Also the track clips have all warn down already and I melt sliders like crazy as soon as i leave the snow to cross a road or bridge etc. Should I reclip the track, or just go new? The track is in mint shape other then the clips.

Well if this helps my father has been a welder for 27 years now and he could weld aluminum but when he tryed to weld my cracked tunnel it was very difficult . but maybe because it is so thin i unno tho i'd get somebody who knows how to weld aluminum to do it... and for your track i'd just get some new clips i think they are like 69 cents a clip.

Good points. I think i'll get someone to tig it then.

Also the tunnel has been polished before, but now it looks a little dull. Any idea's on how to get the shine back? My buddy wet sanded his cat,it looked good. Would I have to clearcoat it after though? or would it be fine?

I noticed a vibration on the left running board that would vibrate faster or slower depending on speed. I had ice on my cogs at the time, but when i cleaned the ice off of them i never really checked to see if it solved the problem. The driveshaft and jackshaft bearings were changed last year. Any idea's on what's causing the vibration?

The vibration you feel is probably a worn belt, so check you belt, run your fingers along the sides of the belt. You will probably feel a dip in the sides. If so toss it and get a new belt. If you don't it will hammer on the crank shaft and possibly snap it.

Had a brand new belt on it, had it shimmed correctly and everything.
