power breather, if you gut the air box you may get; dirt, snow, dust into your air box then to your carbs

Your airbox is gutted already. I have never been in a ZRT box that wasn't empty.

If its not already done as arcticcatmatt said, I would gut it. On my gen2 I gutted the air box and cut holes in the hood for better flow..

you can see the holes I drilled in this picture, not sure if you can do it on the zrt but it cant be that bad of an idea if theres a filter there.



98.5 rmk/xc- 99 rmk bulkhead/tunnel, 99 xtra-10 with ad boivin ETS, xc fox shocks in front, fox shocks rear, 98 700 w/ 220's, 121/1" track, 3" riser, skid plate, 41/21
99 rmk7- 136/2" track, SLP boost bottle, SLP can, 5" fly risers w/ all the goodies, xc front fox shocks, fox shocks in rear, 98 seat, skid plate, 41/21, all black
