Hey guys, what do you think of the 2002 mxz 500 sport? are they reliable sleds? are they fast? do they have reverse and all those gadgets? would it be harder to put a riser setup on because of the reverse if it has?

Stock for stock the 500 will beat your xlt not on a lake but on short runs if the 02 mxz 500 i raced was not clutched and i was not he would have killed me no joke. They are reliable from what i hear... I'd say go for it!

i own one, GREAT SLED!! there are two types of reverse there's the elctronic reverse and the manual reverse..i have over 6000 miles on it and havent had 1 single problem with it. and i think a few others on here will vouche for me when i say i rode it HARD.not sure how fast on radar but down the road acording to the speedo 105 maybe 110. bar risers and such would not be a problem because if its the elctronic its a button where your knee is and if mechanical its just a small lever where your knee is (right hand side for both).great sled as far as im concernded.

i have one, great sled can only put a 2 inch riser on it due to cable lengths, ive never had any problems with it mine has mechanical reverse and like 2200 miles on it and mine with my fat a$$ on it will do like 95-97 topped out on the lake. over all its a good sled.
