89 indy 500 - cleaned the carbs and now idles wicked high started by Raptor700rBronson

i took the left carb off, cleaned it and put it back on( had a little trouble with the cable and clip thing) and now it will start and idle but when you hit the throttle a little it idles so high that it starts to move

take the slides back out and make sure they are in correctly and that they are on the right side

i probably sound like a retard but are the slides the thing that goes on top of the end of the throttle cable so it stays inplace?

at the ends or each throttle cable are the slides... they unscrew... and expose a spring, needle, and a cylintrical slide.. those are the slides
