Wow! What a way to put an end to yourself. I wonder how long it takes to fall from 10,000 feet and what would go through your mind as you see the ground approaching.

^ I think the fastest anything can fall from the air is 125 mph. If you were going 60 mph for 2 mins that would be 2 miles. 10,000 feet is almost 2 miles. 125 mpg would be twice that so I would say he fell about 1 min.

I am rdrunk off lemonchello from italy at the moment so if that math is not even close forgive me

Anybody seen Terminal Velocity with old Charlie Sheen? They talk about falling rates and all that. Too bad my memory sucks butt. I think it's like 52ft/second. But I can pretty much guarantee I'm wrong.

Yea, terminal velocity for a human body is around 125. Ive heard it takes you about 1800 feet to reach 125mph which they say takes you approx. 15 seconds to reach. So if 1800 feet is 15 seconds then 10000 feet is approx 1 minute and 30 seconds to 2 minutes of free fall.

mackinsaw Thinks it's mighty convient for the neighbor to wait untill there's snow on the ground and to ask me if I would do him a massive favour and cut his firewood for the winter for money as he is incapable. Dang I got some work cut out for the next few days.

the rate of free fall for any object is 9.8m/s/s.

acceleration and speed will increase during free fall until terminal velocity is reached at which time the object stops accelerating. I'm too damn tired to figure to much of the math though 10000ft is 1.89 miles.

there is a good write up on this at the link below, and by the way terminal velocity is reached at different distances dependant on the mass of the object.
