This was my first time fishing this Lake. We caught 50 walleyes in 10 hours all about the same size as shown, plus my 14" crappie inducing a big sh!t eating grin.

Different fishing for sure. You can kinda see how the boats just line up. You drop you hook over the side of the boat and bam...

Nice catch Pigboy! I'm heading to Ontario this Friday, can't wait......

It's all about the ride to get there, the destination doesn't matter!

That's the catch (no pun intended) Besides the crappie 49 of the 50 fish were in the 17" to 26" slot. Threw 'em all back. Otherwise it's only three walleye and ten crappie.

If your wondering why the harsh slot limit do a little research on the Lake. The local indian population netted it into literaly a dead sea a few years back.

Brings back memories of catching 20 to 32 inch walleyes. But they were over fished and now there is hardly any to catch. The limit on the lake that i fish is 3 and they have to be 18 or bigger. And thats on chautauqua lake.

The problem with chautauqua lake is the weeds took it over.the fish population went down. And then the carp started to just die.You would see about 100 dead carp in just a 1 mile strech.

That's ashame about the gill netting. It indiscriminately kills fish, therefore there's a lot of waste. They did that in the river that runs infront of our cabin in Ontario. A reservation is on the other bank. My friend would remove them when he found them. It was keeping fish from migrating up river to the lake to spawn, therefore this lake lost much of it's numbers of fish. It really dissapoints me because I always have and still do look at the native peoples as great stewards of the land?
