This sled started off as a 1996 Polaris Sport touring 440 fanner, 133.5" track with xtra 10 came stock with it.

Well i have had my sled torn down for a while, I was just waiting on getting the skid and stuff..

This is what i did today, I switched to the 121" xtra 10 skid, with a 1.5" lug track off of a mxz. The holes did line up for the skid except for in the back, But i had to change the front too, There are pairs of holes in the side tunnel in the front skid mount holes, I had to drill out the bottom farthest one to make it sit right, I had drop brackets on my sled already, So i just moved those forward.

I think it looks great so far, Besides the fact that theres quite a few extra holes in my tunnel from where i moved the bracket. The thing that makes the sled look gay in my opinion is the 2-up seat, As soon as i have the money, Ill pick up a single seat for it.

I also drillled out the holes in the front of the sled for the running board coolers, I would have put them on already, But i need to find some rivets and the money for the rivets, Anyone know a cheap place? I need them for the exchangers and i think a few other things they would be good to use for.

I ****ed up the first hole haha. but it looks "Ok" now i think..

Also ive been told i need the 8 tooth drivers, I didnt need them, Maybe me drilling out that bottom hole for the front skid mounts helped some, But i dont need new drivers so that is gonna save me some money..


By the way i am also working on cosmetics of the sled, But ive been doing the other stuff first like the skid and stuff. I am taking most stickers off my hood. Also the pink on the side of the sled will be painted black, Just getting the mechanical stuff done first.

I also took it out to the back yard today for a test drive, test out the new skid and track, I have to say i am VERY pleased already. Compared to before it has amazing speed and traction. As soon as i get some rivets, i will mount the exchangers, I am leaving out the bulk head cooler, It would be too much work to put it in, There is no place to put it.

So once i get the engine, I will update with more pics..

Hmm.. No comments on my project?


Here are some pics of my tunnel clearance with the 1.5" lug track, Stock 9 tooth track drivers, Looks like it should work without getting the 8 tooth ones. What do you think?

Also pics of the holes in the front where i drilled it out to lower the front of the skid a little, I think it worked out great. And the rear holes from where the skid mount bracket was located and i moved, Sucks having all those extra holes but i can live with it. I know i need more bolts in it, I just havent made it to the store to get any yet, I wanted to yesterday but it was too late they already closed.
