Hey guys, i have a chance at picking up a 1999 Polaris xc 500. It's port and polished, Mbrp race can, V force reeds, Handlebar riser, hand guards, black cobra windshield and shock covers. He says it had 4500 miles on it when he bought it, but now he says when you go for a 20 mile ride the tripo will rack up the kms, like 20 mile ride will put 500 miles on the tripo? Starts first or second pull everytime and has 120 compression in both cylinders. Says it will need a new track before the new sledding season. The suspenion looks like it sits very low in the rear end? I know the x-tra 10 doesn't have lots of travel in the first place but it looks odd. I'll try uploading pictures later on. Any input from fellow sledders would be great. He said his bottom dollar was $1500. Remember, i'm from Canada, not the States.

Before I continue, if I don't keep this sled for the whole season, I promise to never sign on to Snowmobile Fanatics again.

They are quick lil sleds my buddy has a 1999 also and it is a great machine. 99.9 miles an hour all day long on a radar. but why would you want another one if you already have a xc 500 ?

If the suspension is sitting real low in the rear it may need a shock rebuild, but if it has the stock Fox shock in it I recommend replacing it which is what I did.

I sold the 2000 xcsp at the end of the season. Just haven't been on the site much to worry about changing my sled status.

You can pick up xc 500's for $900-$1500 all day long. I'd make sure its exactly what you want, because $1500 is a bit high for that year/model.
