TXC: thanks for the links. I especially like the "northern destinations" site since it discusses and illustrates changing the oil filter.

HELP! My wife has a 2002 600 RMK that she is scared to ride. It has only been on the snow four times and each time out the steering has locked up in the straight ahead position at least three times. Our local dealer has looked at it after each ride and can't find a problem. They claim to have torn it completly down and nothing is amiss. Does anyone have any ideas or simular situations?

Frequently used as a term of derision by non-woodburners who mock the presence of loose bark and other wood waste in the beds of their pickup trucks.

maybe just too much pressure on the skis so it is hard to turn, try changing your suspension to take some pessure off the skis and onto the track.

That was some really good info on the one page with dyno tuning and clutch setup. I know what is happening before the snow flies next year.

2002 700 RMK 144, Boost Bottle, Team Roller, and primary clutch kit, Simmon skis. Single pipe and Vforce reeds next.
2005 900 RMK 166, Simmon skis, RK Tek head, VForce Reeds, SLP pipe, Fire n Ice Airbox, gears and clutching, BD Controller, Koso dual egt. Took it all apart and did light weight diet on it. Half five gallon can of crap left over and 3 days later :)

Harleyguy, I had a very simular unexplainable lack of steering on my 96 XLT. It occurred after stopping at a Traven on a cold night. The sled would not turn. This had nothing to do with the beverages that I consumed.I taced this to a failed front shock that froze. This would not allow the weight to transfer thus it handled like a dump truck.
