update, once all the reconstruction was done, and the final report, the kid that hit her was not at fault, they dismissed the DWI charge, as his level was .04, which is below state laws, and that the kid did nothing wrong, the driver of the car that RIPN was in blew the stop sign. In any event, she is no longer with us, but just wanted to put the fact out there, wasnt the kids fault what so ever

Thanks for setting the record straight. Can be scary sometimes how quickly people are convicted in the court of public opinion. I have been mortified at times of what I read in the papers when I know what really happened at some of these accidents.

Thanks for the update..
I know in our town a 16 year old ran over a a 21 year old girl in the street.
0 boooze. the girls where lying in the street, for some unknown reason.
I always felt sorry for that kid. \

ONEIDA COUNTY, N.Y. -- An Old Forge man behind the wheel in an accident that killed his sister-in-law has plead guilty to criminally negligent homicide.
Last August, Carl Barcomb, 49, was driving on Soule Road in Steuben when his car was hit by another vehicle at the intersection of Route 274. One of the passengers, Laura Gribneau, his sister-in-law, was killed.
Barcomb was originally only ticketed for failure to yield. Further investigation revealed Barcomb was under the influence of marijuana at the time. Prosecutors say he consumed the drug shortly before the accident occurred. Barcomb said that the Old Grange Building at that intersection, which was torn down in the weeks after the accident, obstructed his view.

An Old Forge man behind the wheel in an accident that killed his sister-in-law has plead guilty to criminally negligent homicide.
"My position is had Mr. Barcomb had not been consuming marijuana, he would have been able to perceive that risk and either get through the intersection in time or stop and wait for Mr. Razzano's vehicle to pass by," said Assistant District Attorney Stacey Paolozzi.
"The family is still very close in spite of the tragedy. They view it as an accident. And they're trying to move on in spite of that," said Barcomb's attorney George Aney.
Barcomb also pleaded guilty to driving under the influence of marijuana. He will be back in court September 18. It's expected that he'll be sentenced to five years probation.

What sucked, was how fast they charged the other driver with DWI, when in the end, it was absolutely no fault of his, arraigned him and everything, when he wasnt even drunk, just the circumstances. I just wanted the truth to come out in the end. Her brother in law finally fessed up to the fact that he was baked while driving. The story pretty much tells it all, nice, ya like the probation part for CRIMINALLY NEGLIGENT HOMOCIDE!!!!!!!

I think, when people go, thers a reason for it. My uncle for example, worked at comcast. He enjoyed workin with electronics and was good and knowledgeable at what he did. He died 3 days before the digital switch with the converter boxes. I always thought he was sent to help out with that. It is kind of corny but thats how i see it. Im sure there was a reason for her going too. R.I.P.
