Might want to hold out until next year. Season is about over. I'd look into a newer bike then that as well. Like the 2000+ gixxers. You see them for around the same price and they are a more manuverable bike as well.JM2C

I own something very close to one.

Price seems a little high, but other than that not a bad setup.
Sportbikes are lots of fun, but also lots of trouble in the undisciplined hands.

Seems to me that you can make a better purchase $$$$$ if you look around and be patient.
Be sure to save a couple hundred bucks to take the MSF Safety Course!

Thats why I have not bought one even though I would like one,it seems like it would be to easy to get in trouble on one.

Really? My bike (avatar) now has about 18,000 miles. There are MANY on the forum I visit with over 50,000 and one with over 100,000
To the thread poster - I would not spend 3200 bucks on that bike.

haha^ Actually I have a 1982? Virago 750. Good beginner bike, ahs around 40,000 miles and still running strong. Dad has a 1996 Harley Ultra with over 100,000 on it. I thought it was high but it has no problems as of yet. Not sure how long 4 cylinders can last???
I did alot of talking with guys on a different forum. Just passing the info along.

Well with the low miles, i've been sick for awhile so i didn't ride it to much but also when i get time to ride its raining orforecasted rain and doesn't. I do like the v-twin torgue and my tank, tail bags should be here next week so now i can ride it when i go up home. I' on svrider.com but i mainly read and don't post alot and i'm sure you understand why, my name is DSIMATT on there.

10,800 is nothing for a 1997. mid 90s and older sportbikes tend to last a lot longer than todays high strung bikes. I would love FI, but todays fire breathing racers are about shot at 30k.I bought a 1996 yzf with 11,000 miles on it. 3rd summer on it and just rolled it over 23,000. Still have atleast half of its life left. I have seen many go over 100,000 miles (even with occasional track days.)Also handles just as good as an SV with still hard to beat brakes and much more grunt.

A sport bike will last as long as you treat it well. I know many people that have hit the 100k+ on rockets. Truth is most dont see that in their lives because they are wrecked.
I love my r6 and its been very good to me, 05 with almost 20k on it.
ha been awhile since i posted here!
this is what I have been doin all summer!
